What’s the difference between the Savant and Savant Pro product lines?
Savant Pro is our flagship, luxury product line, offering a premium whole-home automation experience for everything from lighting, climate, and shades, to entertainment, security, and more.
Our new more affordable Savant product line, brings that same premium experience to more people, starting with entertainment and lighting. The products are available for purchase online and in retail stores, which is a first for Savant—and are easy for anyone to set up and use.
What devices does the Savant Remote work with?
The Savant Remote helps people get more enjoyment from their home by working with thousands of entertainment devices, including TVs, cable, Sonos, Apple TV, game consoles, AV receivers, and more—as well as Savant Lamp Controllers. Because of how certain devices receive commands, they’re not all compatible at this time, but new ones are constantly being added to expand Savant’s capability. We’re starting in entertainment, and have plans to introduce additional product integrations to help grow your Savant Home in the future.
What types of lighting can I control with the new Savant products?
With a Savant Lamp Controller, you can control any plug-in lamp from either the Savant Remote or the Savant App.
Do I need the Remote + Host package or can I just buy the Remote?
If you’re just starting your Savant Home, you need to begin with the Remote + Host package. The Host is what enables communication between your other devices. If you already have a Host, you can buy additional Savant Remotes individually. A Savant Host supports up to four Savant Remotes.
How many rooms can I control with a single remote?
The Savant Remote is mostly designed to control entertainment and lighting within a single room, with the exception being Sonos—from the Savant Remote you can distribute music to any group of Sonos speakers in your home. Additionally, if one of your scenes includes lighting and entertainment in multiple rooms, you can use the Remote to activate that scene, thus controlling multiple rooms.
I have Sonos speakers all over my home. Can I use the Savant Remote to control them all?
Yes. The Savant Remote includes an option for music distribution, which lets you select the rooms in which you want to listen to music.
What voice commands can I use with the Remote?
Our voice commands are focused on giving you quick access to services, channels and scenes. Some are built-in by default, and you can also create your own. For example, you can:See All Voice Commands
- Say “Food Network” or “ESPN” to change the channel
- Say the name of a service, such as “Apple TV” to automatically switch inputs
- Adjust the lights with a simple “Lights on” or “Dimmer”
- Say the name of any scene you create, like “Relax,” which could cue up a favorite Sonos playlist and dim the lights
Please note: The Savant Remote is not currently compatible with voice commands for Apple's Siri or Amazon's Echo.
How do I set up my Savant system?
Our Savant Instant™ in-app guide will quickly walk you through the setup process and help you connect your other entertainment devices without needing to know about model types and numbers.
Will I need extra Blasters?
If your entertainment devices are out of the line of sight of your Remote Base, in closed cabinets for example, you will need to use a Blaster. When devices are on multiple shelves, you will need a Blaster for each shelf. Each Blaster requires two AAA batteries (included).
One Blaster is included in the Remote + Host entertainment package—additional Blasters are available separately.
Is it easy to set up a Savant system myself?
Yes. The Savant App pairs with the Remote and features Savant Instant™, which quickly guides you through each step of the setup. Just purchase through Savant.com to get free shipping anywhere in the US.
For those that prefer assistance, the Remote is also available through our nationwide network of Authorized Savant Dealers, who can provide a consultation and custom installation. Find an installer in your area.
Is the Savant Remote available in stores?
Yes. Savant products are available in over 300 of Best Buy’s Magnolia Design Centers and Magnolia Home Theaters throughout the country. Geek Squad services are available. Find a store.
Is the Savant Remote available internationally?
At the moment, the Savant Remote is only being sold in the United States. Announcements regarding sales of the Remote in other territories will be made when more information becomes available.
What’s the return policy?

Do the Savant products come with a warranty?
Yes. Each product has a two-year limited warranty.
